Next Sunday, February 12th, there will be a bean/soup luncheon in the fellowship hall. This will a dinner to prepare ourselves for Lent; it is meant for fellowship and reflection. It will not be a meal of over-indulgence, but rather one that leaves us a little hungry for both spiritual and caloric feeding.
Community Project: Salem Christian Church has asked us to partner with them on a community project to make fresh soup once a month and take it to those we know would enjoy a fresh soup meal. We had our first Soup Group cooking and delivery party January 31 from 1-3 in the afternoon. We met in the WCC kitchen and made a delicious Vegetable Soup, and then delivered the soup to 23 community friends. We will meet again in the WCC kitchen on Wednesday, February 29, 1-3 PM, to make Split Pea with Ham soup; and on March 20, 1-3 PM, to make Baked Potato Soup.
